"We're singing in the rain". Forest School Training Day at Biscovey Infants School

Recently our Forest School Leader and resident woodsman Tom delivered a Forest School Training day to staff of Biscovey Infants School. Tom had this to say about the day

"I had a brilliant time with all of the teaching staff at Biscovey, although the weather was less than perfect it gave a great representation of all that Forest Schools has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing ideas and challenging a few misconceptions about outdoor learning and I hope I have instilled a passion amongst the staff for them to carry their programme forward."

The training was an introduction to Forest Schools and included a wide range of activities from listening and communication games through to den building and fire safety. As well as showing what goes on at Forest Schools, the course also teaches people why we think Forest Schools are vitally important in children’s development. The course has left the staff of the school now willing and ready to embark on their own forest school adventures in their own setting.
